A biological concept for diagnosis, treatment and therapy control of endogenous psychoses.

M Bergener, C Hesse.

Abstract

A multidimensional concept of diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders is presented. Major contributions to basic research come from pharmacological experiments. Clinical outcome in treatment of endogenous depression can be assessed by rating scales and psychophysiological tests and correlated with the serum level of drug. In the case of maprotiline there seems to be a correlation between serum level and clinical outcome.
