[Treatment of cervical spine injuries by an anterior stable spondylodesis with an H-plate (author's transl)].

G Gelehrter, G Fritz.

Abstract

A stable spondylodesis of the cervical spine was obtained by an osteosynthesis with metal plates. The H-plate of the A-O in connection with autologous bone-chips from the iliac crest or Kieler bone and bone cement was used in five cases and resulted in a solid fusion of the affected cervical segments. The development of this technique and the advantages over other methods are demonstrated. The results of our cases reflect the superiority of this procedure.
