Effect of oral contraceptives on tear production.

S H Frankel, P P Ellis.

Abstract

No significant differences were found in tear production, as measured by Schirmer tests, or in tear film break up time between women taking oral contraceptives and those not on the medication. Wide variations in these tear function tests were found in the test subjects who were all asymptomatic young women.
