Abstract
The first isolation of Serratia ficaria from a human source is reported. Investigation into the eating habits of the patient revealed the probable source as figs, which are one of the natural reservoirs of this organism. How this and other normally saprophytic Serratia species can be distinguished from Serratia marcescens is reviewed.Entities:
