Wrist ganglia. Incidence and recurrence rate after operation.

L Janzon, I A Niechajev.

Abstract

165 patients operated on for primary wrist ganglia during 1970-71 were followed-up 5 years later in order to study the recurrence rate after a standardized surgical procedure. A questionnaire was used and the overall response rate was 86%. The recurrence rate was 12.7% and the annual incidence rate was 43/100,000 for females and 25/100 000 for males, giving a F/M sex ratio of 1.7 to 1.
