[Isolated dislocation fracture of the trapezium (author's transl)].

G Fuchs.

Abstract

As a very rare injury, isolated fracture, dislocation or rarely dislocation fracture of the trapezium can be connected with difficult diagnostical problems. Routine X-rays of the hand are not always sufficient, because of overlying trapezoid-contours. Special X-rays are additionally necessary. Concerning the therapy, there is a balance in conservative and surgical treatment, depending on the kind and nature of fracture and dislocation.
