Platform for nipple projection: modification of the inferior pedicle technique for breast reduction.

R C Schultz, N J Markus.

Abstract

A modified narrower inferior pedicle with greater parenchymal attachment to the chest wall has been employed in reduction mammaplasty over a wide range of breast sizes and configurations. Enhanced nipple projection as well as retention of normal sensitivity has been achieved by supporting the nipple-areola complex on a deepithelialized dermal platform at the keyhole.
