Abstract
A case of Hemophilus aphrophilus endocarditis in association with a prosthetic valve is reported in which the organism was isolated from dental plaque as well as blood. We emphasize the need for treating the primary source of the infection; in this case, periodontal disease. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of H aphrophilus endocarditis in which an oral primary focus has been demonstrated.Entities:
