Directive of the European Communities relating to the quality of water for human consumption.

A draft directive relating to the quality of water for human consumption was submitted on 22 July 1975 to the Council of Ministers of the European Communities. The submission of this proposition was requested by the Council of Ministers in the Action Programme of the European Communities on the environment, approved by them on 22 November 1973. The objective is the protection of public health by establishing standards to be respected by the Member States. This directive was adopted by the Council of Ministers of the European Communities June 30, 1980. This report deals with technical aspects of this directive and gives some additional comments.
