Abstract
Neuropathic fractures are common after major surgical procedures to stabilize the hip or spine in patients with myelomeningocele. Complications resulting from such fractures are frequently observed. The fractures occur particularly in the more severely involved children and are associated with prolonged immobilization after surgery. The authors advise that all necessary surgery be done within the shortest possible time, and urge that prolonged immobilization be avoided if possible.Entities:
