Radiographic examination of the upper gastrointestinal tract: a survey of current techniques.

S H Ominsky, A R Margulis.

Abstract

A multiple-choice questionnaire was sent to 156 radiologists, surveying techniques used to evaluate the upper gastrointestinal tract. Of the 123 who responded, all but 5 used the double-contrast examination. Pharmacological agents were frequently employed. Preferences regarding filming formats, indications for use of water-soluble contrast material, and indications for use of the double-contrast examination are discussed.
