Abstract
A case of a left inferior vena cava with prolongation into a hemiazygos vein is reported, in which the diagnosis was suspected after ultrasonography and confirmed by inferior cavography. Ultrasonographic signs were absence of a retrohepatic inferior vena cava, direct opening of the inferior hepatic veins into the right atrium, and the presence of a longitudinal vascular structure behind and on the left of the aorta, corresponding to the left inferior vena cava.Entities:
