Delayed hypersensitivity to syngeneic or xenogeneic testicular cells in guinea-pigs.

S Yoshida, K Nomoto, K Himeno, H Sanui.

Abstract

Guinea-pigs of an inbred JY-l strain were immunized with syngeneic or xenogeneic testicular cells without added adjuvants. A delayed erythematous skin reaction accompanied by basophil infiltration was detected after elicitation with syngeneic testicular cells and the erythematous reaction was augmented by treatment with cyclophosphamide before immunization. Cross-reactivity was observed among testicular cells of the guinea-pig, rat or mouse at the levels of immunization and elicitation.
