Porcine xenografts in the treatment of pressure ulcers.

R A Ersek, H J Hachen.

Abstract

Porcine heterografts are effective in the treatment of cutaneous ulcers as biological bandages that promote healing by: speeding the processes of granulation and epithelialization; maintaining a clean covering over the wound; reducing loss of fluid and protein; and preventing bacterial encroachment.
