[Prevention of stress injuries to the heart by using preliminary adaptation to altitude hypoxia].

A A Ugolev, L Iu Golubeva, F Z Meerson.

Abstract

Reduced contractile function of the isolated heart and increased flow of CPK from it into the perfusate were observed in animals who had suffered an emotional-pain stress in the form of anxiety neurosis; the hupoxic test caused more marked changed in these animals. Preliminary adaptation to high altitude hypoxia prevented the damaging effect of stress according to the criterion of enzyme escape; there was no deficiency of contractile function.
