[Aneurysma of the portal vein. A case report (author's transl)].

Case report of one case of aneurysma of the portal vein observed by us with a review of the eight similar cases published in the world literature. Clinical and radiographic findings and the problems of diagnosis and therapy are pointed out. There was no indication for surgical intervention in any of the patients who had their condition diagnosed while alive. All authors conclude a portocaval shunt or a similar decompression to be the therapy of choice.
