Mental illness and juvenile delinquency.

Abstract

A review of some of the studies of the usefulness of psychiatric treatment in delinquent populations is presented. Some suggestions are made as to elements of the history and of the psychiatric examination that may predict for success in psychiatric treatment. Some psychiatric syndromes commonly encountered in delinquent populations are briefly described.
