Marginal fractures of the patella.

Several types of marginal fracture of the patella are described together with the methods of treatment. The relationship between bipartite patellas and marginal fractures is also discussed. The diagnosis of marginal fracture of the patella should always be considered in cases of traumatic haemarthrosis of the knee so that appropriate radiographic examination can be made, followed by early treatment of the injury.
