Abstract
In normal animals, administration of beta-D-glycoside does not lead to a decrease in the content of cholesterol and beta-lipoproteins in blood plasma. At the same time the content of phospholipids drops by 38%. During hypercholesterolemia, the drug reduces the content of blood cholesterol by 31% and that of beta-lipoproteins by 46%, as well as normalizes the cholesterol/phospholipid ratio. It is suggested that the drug activates the synthesis of phospholipids in experimental hypercholesterolemia.Entities:
