Cross-sectional anatomy of the adult bony acetabulum.

J Rubenstein, J Kellam, D McGonigal.

Abstract

Cross-sectional cuts through the acetabulum of a cadaveric pelvis were obtained to evaluate the bony anatomy. There are six slices of 1 cm thickness which define the acetabulum. This information has been important to us primarily to assess acetabular fractures with computerized tomography.
