The resocialization of single-caged chimpanzees and the establishment of an island colony.

Abstract

Single-caged chimpanzees used in medical experimentation were resocialized in the laboratory setting and subsequently established as a socially integrated island colony. The dynamics of their behavioral pathology are described.
