Abstract
The significance of neurological deficit and radiological findings to the pre-operative determination of the relations of extramedullary tumours to the spinal cord was investigated in 37 patients with spinal neurinomas and meningiomas. On the basis of two simple methods a correct prediction of the affected side of the vertebral canal was possible in 92%. Myelographic findings indicated the correct localisation of the tumour in 65%. Among the neurological deficits the motor deficit indicated the correct side most frequently.Entities:
