[Experiences with transumbilical cannulation of the portal vein. Review of 180 consecutive cases].

The canulation of the umbilical vein in the adult is reported on 180 consecutive cases. The small operation hardly stressing the patient and not having led to serious complications, may be allowed without any objection if the necessary precautions are observed.
