Abstract
The afferent connections of the retrosplenial field of the limbic cortex were studied in rats using the horseradish peroxidase method. The dry horseradish peroxidase was injected to the cortical surface in field 29. The HRP labelled cells were found in the dorsal part of the lateral geniculate body, nucleus lateralis posterior, in the pretectal and anterodorsalis nuclei. The connections of field 29 with fields 17 and 18 of the cortical visual areas and with contralateral field 29 were also revealed. According to the data obtained all principal thalamic structures project directly to the retrosplenial cortex.Entities:
