[Computerized tomography of the talo-crural joint].

CT provides an additional method of investigating the ankle joint in cases of trauma and posttraumatic lesions. Concerning fractures CT displays preoperatively the true extent of the bony lesion. The ligaments of the tibiofibular syndesmosis are directly visible in CT. Posttraumatic states (reparatively ossified avulsions of ligaments, partial osteonecrosis of the astragalus) are recognizable in CT.
