Abstract
Blind-well chemotaxis chambers were used to study the in vitro bacterial adhesion and colonization of biomaterials. Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were selected for the bacterial inocula. Abundant growth on the surfaces of methyl methacrylate, polyethylene, stainless steel, and Vitallium was detected by using scanning electron microscopy after 24 h of incubation. The culture technique employed proved to be of value for the study of surface bacterial colonization of inert materials.Entities:
