Abstract
Few physicians are familiar with the components of wheelchairs. Consequently, they may prescribe wheelchairs that limit or impair their patients' functional abilities. Correct ordering requires use of catalogs, patient measurements, assessment of functional needs and a knowledge of the available modifications and accessories.
