Primary intracranial mesenchymal chondrosarcoma: case report with review of the literature.

Abstract

A case of a large intracranial mesenchymal chondrosarcoma with probable distant metastases to the humerus and the lung is presented. The pertinent literature is reviewed with respect to the presentation, treatment, and prognosis of this tumor. Total removal of the tumor is the treatment of choice. The prognosis is poor because of frequent recurrence and metastasis.
