Observations on bladder function following radical hysterectomy using carbon dioxide cystometry.

J M Roberts, H D Homesley.

Abstract

It is suggested that carbon dioxide cystometry offers a simple, rapid method for the evaluation of bladder dysfunction in the postoperative period. Certainly, those patients recognized to have abnormal cystometric findings postoperatively are more likely to have voiding difficulties. Variable findings will be noted cystometrically, depending upon the interval between operation and cystometric studies because the pattern does become less pronounced with time.
