Abstract
Age-related biologic and physiologic changes, the accumulation of multiple pathologic conditions with increasing age and several socioeconomic considerations combine to make drug prescribing for the elderly one of the most challenging tasks in clinical medicine. Numerous studies in older persons have documented alterations in the pharmacology of many drugs. Several general recommendations are presented which should make drug prescribing for elderly patients safer and more effective.Entities:
