Abstract
A 5-year-old boy is presented suffering from malignant hypertension due to hemolytic-uremic syndrome. Captopril, an oral angiotensin-1-converting enzyme inhibitor, was able to curb the natural course of the malignant hypertension. Haemodialysis could be discontinued after 2 months. The glomerular filtration rate recovered to 63 ml/min/1.73 m2 11 months after the acute phase.Entities:
