Trace elements in the fetal and neonate ruminant: a review.

M Hidiroglou.

Abstract

The placental transfer and localization of four elements, Se, Fe, I and Zn in the ruminant fetus are described in this review. The problems facing the fetus or neonate born from cows or ewes with an inadequate supply of these elements during gestation are discussed.
