The activity of two types of asbestos in tissue culture.

The effects of chrysotile and crocidolite asbestos samples on the plating efficiency of V79-4 cells has been studied. The interaction of cells with chrysotile is more rapid than that with crocidolite, and these interactions are affected differently by changes in experimental technique. It is concluded that the differences detailed are not related to the pathogenicity of those fibres.
