Abstract
Small bowel obstruction, one of the most common causes of acute surgical abdomen in adults, constitutes approximately 20 percent of all cases of acute surgical abdomen. With improper management, strangulation of the bowel may occur and result in an increased probability of mortality. The author reviews the literature and discusses diagnosis, management, and complications of small bowel obstruction.Entities:
