Metallic foreign body embedded in the cheek for 20 years.

Abstract

The unique tissue response to a knife blade embedded for more than 20 years in the cheek of a patient is discussed. Chronic proliferative inflammation resulted in iron corrosion products that were phagocytized by inflammatory cells.
