Abstract
Cataract extraction can cause a diffuse traumatic dilatation of a narrow pupil in patients with long-standing application of miotics or after iridocyclitis. In order to avoid a total iridectomy a technique for performing an iridotomy with a single iris suture is described. We present the long-term observation of twenty cases: a pear-shaped pupil in a fairly centric position was obtained in all cases and an iris diaphragm was present. The nylon suture was tight in all cases and a bridge of cicatricial iris tissue present.Entities:
