Abstract
This paper reviews the literature concerning malignant lymphoma of the gastrointestinal tract. The diagnosis, pattern of dissemination, histologic data, prognosis, and results of treatment are discussed. The results suggest that localized lymphoma of the gastrointestinal tract is compatible with long-term survival and possible cure. A more careful look at the staging of the disease is warranted, as well as the development of appropriate programs of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy to maximize the potential for control of the disease while minimizing damage to normal tissue.Entities:
