Escherichia coli infection of the finger. A possible cause of dermatitis repens.

Abstract

A clinical diagnosis suggestive of dermatitis repens was made in a patient in whom a bacterial culture grew Escherichia coli. There was a prompt response after appropriate antibiotic therapy was initiated, and the patient's condition cleared within one week.
