Abstract
Circulatory failure exists when tissue metabolic demand exceeds availability. The most common cause of inadequate perfusion in children is hypovolemia. If recognized and treated early, hypovolemic shock responds readily to volume expansion. For those patients who do not respond, intelligent recommendations for pharmacologic support of the circulation are based on evaluation of hemodynamic parameters which include indices of flow, pressure, and resistance.Entities:
