Abstract
Escherichia coli endophthalmitis developed in a 62-year-old man following an inadequately treated lower urinary tract infection. Treatment with intravenous and local antibiotics and steroids was successful in eradicating the infection, but blindness was not reversed. The pathogenesis and management of secondary bacterial endophthalmitis are reviewed.Entities:
