Allergic reactions to insulin.

B V Jegasothy.

Abstract

Allergic reactions to insulin, although very common, are usually mild and self-limited. Many persistent effects can be corrected by simple means available to the discerning physician. In a few patients, however, they are severe and cause extreme morbidity or even mortality. These patients need to be recognized promptly and alternate means of managing their diabetes rapidly instituted.
