Abstract
Two patients had bilateral, simultaneous Mooren's ulcers that progressed to almost total loss of the corneal stroma in all eyes. The conjunctival epithelium eventually healed over these thinned corneas and the eyes were free of pain and inflammation. Three of the four eyes had combined 7.5-mm penetrating corneal transplants and cataract extractions performed at least four months after disease activity had subsided. All transplants have remained transparent from one to three years postoperatively and there has been no evidence of recurrence of Mooren's ulcers.Entities:
