Abstract
We present here a case of bilateral primary band-shaped keratopathy that changed into a gelatinous, drop-like dystrophy over two years. To our knowledge, this is the first such case reported in the literature. In the first examination of the right eye, histologic evidence revealed no amyloid deposits and the presence of disorganized collagen lamellae with a high-density amorphous substance. The left corneal disc, obtained two years after the first and second examinations, revealed an agglomeration of amyloid fibrils in the subepithelial portion.Entities:
