Abstract

A patient with recurrent upper gastrointestinal bleeding after having a "C"-shaped mesocaval shunt created is reported. During endoscopic examination, the graft was seen to have eroded into the duodenal lumen. This rare complication of mesocaval shunts may become more common with the increaseing use of "C"-shaped grafts.
