Abstract
A simplified two-step procedure of occlusal adjustment is described, by which evenly distributed precision contacts, bilateral occlusal stability, and adequate contacts in excursions are obtained. The patient should be in both supine and sitting positions when the occlusion is adjusted. Guided as well as free contact movements and excursions should be performed and the patient instructed to use both light and hard pressure. The adjustment should be performed mainly in the upper jaw, using small diameter diamonds and extremely thin, colored plastic foils. The procedure is physiological, substance sparing, and time saving. No assistance is required. On the other hand, careful systematic attention to all components of the described procedure is a prerequisite for successful clinical results.Entities:
