Abstract
End-to-side portacaval shunt (PCS) in the rat exerted an antilipaemic effect which was most marked for esterified cholesterol and triglycerides. In vitro hepatic lipid synthesis did not correlate with serum lipid values and it is unlikely that decreased biosynthesis in the mechanism of the antilipaemic action of PCS in the rat.Entities:
