Aspiration pneumonia from povidone-iodine (Betadine): report of case.

Abstract

A case report of pneumonia secondary to aspiration of povidone-iodine, which was used as an oral preoperative antiseptic, is presented. Associated morbidity is described, along with suggested preventive measures.
