Abstract
A case of necrotizing fasciitis following infection of a mandibular third molar is reported. Necrotizing fasciitis is a relatively rare but fulminating clinical entity characterized by necrosis of fascia with widespread undermining of the superficial tissue and extreme systemic toxicity. Prompt recognition and proper management can reduce the morbidity and mortality in this severe soft tissue infection.Entities:
