Abstract
Psammoma bodies and detached ciliary tufts, or ciliocytophthoria, were present in a cervicovaginal smear from a 38-year-old woman with a benign cystadenofibroma of the left ovary. This case demonstrates that psammoma bodies in cervicovaginal smears may occur in association with nonmalignant conditions of the female genital tract and that detached ciliary tufts may originate from the ovarian epithelium.Entities:
