Abstract
The success of the prosthodontic treatment of cleft patients depends not only on the type and the extent of the defect and on the result of the surgical intervention and of the orthodontic early treatment, but also on a purposive orthodontic-prosthodontic pretreatment. The fundamental aim is to preserve the teeth and to create favourable static and aesthetic prerequisites for the definitive therapy. Splinting measures, mainly fixed dentures, are used for stabilizing the remaining dentition, with due regard to the morphologic conditions.Entities:
